Italian Serie A Title Winners

Juventus have been the one club who have dominated the Italian Championship throughout the years, and whilst there have been some great periods for a variety of other clubs, no one else has consistently won the Scudetto so regularly, and so many times, as Juventus have.

So which other clubs have done well ? Genoa and Pro Vercelli dominated the early years - between them they won 16 out of the first 25 championships. Bologna claimed multiple titles before the war, and Il Grande Torino (the Great Torino) became the team to beat in the post-war years. The 1950s saw the great goalscoring exploits of Swedish striker Gunnar Nordahl help to put Milan regularly on top of the perch, whilst Inter and a resurgent Milan both had great periods in the 1990s and during the turn of the 21st century.

But throughout all of these periods it's been Juventus who have consistently won the title, dominating not only some of the early periods of the championship but also during the 1970s and then via the great team of the 1980s (a period that saw them claim 9 Scudetti in 15 years). The Turin giants had to build again more recently following the shame of their 2004-05 title stripping, and subsequent relegation to Serie B, brought about by the infamous match-fixing scandals that blighted Italian football in 2006.
