Chris Waddle Profile

Chris Waddle was one of English football's most iconic figures in the 1980's and 1990's for a multitude of reasons, be it his trademark mullet haircut, the infamous "Diamond Lights" single with Glenn Hoddle on Top of the Pops, the commonly used fact about his pre-football career in the north-east sausage factory or the regular references to him on Chanel 9 in BBC's comedy The Fast Show.

But it was on the pitch where the likeable Waddle really shone, with his magical wing play at Newcastle, Spurs, Marseille and Sheffield Wednesday making him one of the most entertaining footballers of that era.
